Frontline (Northstar & C Wil)As I write this I’m still thinking about last night’s rap night! Sandbag started things off properly by releasing & performing Sloppy Jay’s tracks, Jay Caron put on a ridiculous solo set that featured Boondocks on the decks, Slop on the MPC PLUS Kristina & Flowpez, and finally Akrobatik came out in beast mode and destroyed everything (including some old school cover tracks)!! That track he did about his heart attack/coma was POWERFUL. There is no doubt Akro is grateful to be alive and there is no doubt Akro appreciated the love the 207 showed him last night in Portland. If you were wondering about the shirt Akro was rocking last night, Maine St. Clothing, then you are in the right place for this week’s podcast! Last night we welcomed North Star & C Wil, collectively Frontline, on the show for the first time. In addition to bringing you select Maine Hip Hop tracks we had a lively show with several people in the studio including rap night’s own Shupe & IBI, Pensivv, MC 22 and OD. We got into it with Frontline about all their endeavors including the music, clothing company, upcoming shows around the state, plus they did two tracks LIVE on the show! All that and inevitability a cypher broke out with too many emcees in the place to resist. Download, iTunes, stream, etc. See you next week!
