Shupe & Eyenine - Boston 10/04/2012There’s a certain buzz in the 207 & 603 right now about Eyenine, El Shupacabra the Floppy Disk Jockey, & Ill by Instinct who are currently touring the nation as one of the opening acts for Supernatural, Ugod, & RZA. Last night we were able to call them on the road during the live broadcast and speak with each one individually to get their perspective and ask questions about the tour. Since we didn’t have any other guests lined up for the show we are simply calling this week’s episode “The Man with the Iron Fists.” We call Eyenine 30 minutes into the podcast which is available for streaming or downloading at the bottom of this post. The reason for the tour is to promote the upcoming film “The Man with the Iron Fists” which is RZA’s directorial debut on the big screen. Check the trailer if you aren’t familiar. If you are a loyal listener to Appleton over the past year you probably are caught up on exactly how Eyenine came to be one of the opening acts on this tour. If you aren’t you can start your homework with this Appleton podcast from December of last year where we recap the Wu Tang show at the State Theatre and speak on how RZA came through Rap Night while he was in town. Fast forward almost a year later and Eyenine & crew are hitting the following spots across the country warming the crowds up for the man himself: 10/03 New York, NY @ Music Hall of Williamsburg 10/04 – Boston, MA @ The Royale 10/07 – Baltimore, MD @ Soundstage 10/08 – Falls Church, VA @ The State Theatre 10/10 – Atlanta, GA @ Vinyl 10/12 – Detroit, MI @ St. Andrew’s 10/13 – Chicago, IL @ Shrine 10/15 – Austin, TX @ Beauty Ballroom 10/16 – Houston, TX @ Fitzgerald’s 10/19 – Las Vegas, NV @ House of Blues 10/24 – Los Angeles, CA @ House of Blues The three videos below are clips from the 10/4 Boston show at The Royale: In addition to all the Iron Fist fun we had Spose, Dynamo-P, & MC 22 in the house this week. Both Spose & Dynamo-P debut a new track (Spose’s features Kristina Kentigian) and MC 22 fill’s us in on Rap Night as he holds it down while Shupe and IBI are on tour. All that 207 flavor plus a cypher at the end of the show! Check the podcast below and check in every Wednesday night from 7 to 9pm when we do it all over again.
